Soft Lacrosse (Peanut)
Available to 4 year old players
Box program that runs for 30 minutes once a week for 10 weeks ending the last week of school (end of April to end of June)
Sessions take place from 5:30-6:00pm - typically Thursday nights
This program focuses solely on the basic skills and fundamentals (cradling, loose balls, passing, catching, and ball control)
Helmet, stick, gloves, jock/jill, running shoes, shorts, and t-shirt is required. Arm guards are recommended to avoid tears if your player falls backwards on the floor.
For insurance reasons soft/indoor lacrosse balls are used
For insurance reasons players cannot be moved up to the Paperweight program, regardless of skill level
Paperweight
Available for 5-6 year old players
Local program only - no travel required
Box program that runs for one 45 minute session once a week for 10 weeks ending the last week of school (end of April to end of June)
Jerseys will be provided after teams have been selected, usually week 2 or 3
Full lacrosse equipment is required -- helmet, stick, gloves, arm guards, shoulder pads, kidney pads, jock/jill, running shoes, shorts, and t-shirt
Program will begin with skills and work towards small game play
Teams will be split as evenly as possible
5 year olds interested in playing in the select program will be decided by the executive based on registration numbers and skill level
Paperweight Select
Available for selected 6 year old players who are interested in a rep program
Season runs from mid April to mid July
Players usually have 2 floor times per week, but sometimes more
Players will be participating in 10 structured and competitive travel games (Guelph, Cambridge, Kitchener, Milton, Arthur, etc.)
Every player gets the same amount of floor time as shifts are timed (3 minutes each)
A coach is on the floor with the players helping with their positioning and offering advice
Participation in two travel tournaments throughout the season
Additional team fees cover the cost of tournaments
