That's All Folks!
It must have been fate, as the dark clouds looming over Fergus last night held off one more time as our U15 & U17 teams closed out the 2021 season.
Your CWMLA executive can attest to the fact that it wasn't easy, but it was worth every scrap of work! Battling through the uncertainty of COVID, dealing with player availability, special requests, lack of service support, weather, and whatever else this year has thrown at us, we battled through.
Please join me in thanking everyone involved that helped move our 2021 season forward.
Your CWMLA executive, executing a tonne of behind the scenes work to make the decisions and provide the support ensuring that each player has the best opportunity to play. Including the introduction of new programs enabling more players to get involved or making tough decisions that could negatively impact their player(s).
Your Coaches and their bench staff, taking time out of their day each week to share their knowledge of sport and competition with our players is invaluable. From ex-Professionals down to parents looking to help out, the passion in this group is real. Let's also not forget those coaches that took on extra duties when the opportunity arose to move inside and play more competitive games, not always easy to rearrange your life and up the ante on your commitment.
The referees and off-field officials, pretty much always short-staffed, went above and beyond to make sure that no game was cancelled because of officiating. It wasn't easy, especially since 95% of this work had to be completed manually in comparison with previous years.
Our partners provided much-needed support. Without them, we wouldn't be able to take our programming to the next level from where we would be with registration fee revenue alone.
Finally, our players and their parents, because of your faith in our programs, there is a program to provide. Thank you for putting your faith in our organization in a tumultuous time, and we hope to see you back again for years to come.
Yours in lacrosse,
Nathan Joyes
