Lacrosse Train Starting to Roll - Your 2021 Coaches
Submitted By Nathan Joyes on Wednesday, March 10, 2021
The wheels are starting to roll on the return train to lacrosse town. Holding coaching interviews a little over a week ago, it is your CWMLA executive’s pleasure to announce coaches for the 2021 season.

It is definitely going to be different, but these fantastic volunteers have dug in their heels and are ready to fully support getting our players back out there.

Please join us in welcoming these coaches for 20201!

U11 Boys Box (formerly Novice) - Kasey Beirnes - making a mark for himself as the quickstick king, Boom Boom Beirnes has a wealth of knowledge to pass on to the next generation of lacrosse players. New to this age group, we know that Kasey will make a big impact on these players.

U13 Boy Box (formerly Peewee) - Dan Keane - an outstanding attackman hailing from the D1 University of Delaware, Dan has returned to share his enthusiasm for the game with our new up and comers. Loving the outdoors, there is no doubt in our mind that Dan will have some creative COVID solutions up his sleeve.

U17 Boys Box (formerly Midget) - Craig England - after an incredible 2019 season with the Fergus Thistle Junior C’s AND the CWMLA bantam 1 team, Craig has returned to continue to give back to the program that helped pave his way to the pros. We all hope to return to normal lacrosse in 2022, and Craig is laser focused on helping these U17 players get ready to jump to junior -- regardless of contact in this year’s game.

U13 Girls Box (formerly Peewee) - Abby Clayton - a modest “better laxer than her brother”, Abby returns in 2021 to help grow the girls box program across Ontario. A new venture for Abby running as the head coach but there is no doubt that with her solid support system the U13’s are going to have a blast learning from this CWMLA/Arthur Ace’s Senior Women’s/Laurier Golden Hawks alumni.

U17 Girls Box (formerly Midget) - Samantha Renaud - with nearly a decade in helping the association grow the girls program Sam brings a wealth of experience to the table as our U17 girls box coach. Making connections throughout Ontario has allowed Sam to view the game through the eyes of many different coaches expanding her drill repertoire. There is no doubt that Sam will be ready to roll with the punches this season.

We are still looking for coaches for the Paperweight Select, U9 Boys Box (formally tyke) and U15 Boys Box (formally bantam) levels. If you or someone you know are interested in helping out, please reach out to [email protected].
