2020 Refunds Have Been Processed
Submitted By Nathan Joyes on Thursday, May 7, 2020
It is a little bitter-sweet to hear that the CWMLA executive was able to complete the box refunds late last night in order to hit our refund deadline.

As Jen, your CWMLA registrar emailed, you will be receiving your refund email from Veem. The Subject will be: Congratulations! Centre Wellington Minor Lacrosse Association has sent you a payment. This is an email you are suppose to receive. Jen also emailed out instructions on how to receive the payment to a bank account of your choice.

Refunding 100% of your registration fees was not a decision taken lightly, with one of our best registrations in recent years we had close to 400 registrations to process. To ensure compliance with our constitution and maintain a high level of transparency through this process we integrate our accounting system with our payment processor. The integration required an import of all of our members. After all members were imported, we then had to import all of the registered products so that we could invoice and create an outgoing payment for our payment processor. We then had to manually verify each of the transactions to ensure that all members were receiving the correct refund amount. Each of the verified transactions then needed to be check with the second signer as per our constitutional requirement. So far, your CWMLA executive has invested close to 20 hours just in refunding the 2020 registration fees.

Once you have setup your Veem account, it may take a day or two for the funds to move into your account. If you have any concerns regarding your refund, please reach out to Jen our registrar ([email protected]).

I am proud of the work that your CWMLA volunteer executive has put in so far this year. There were so many things that had been planned that would have made 2020 the best year yet. We are not deterred by COVID-19 and the cancellation of the 2020 season. We are continuing to look towards alternate programming, and how we can build towards a great 2021!

Keep your eyes up, and two hands on your stick.

YIL,
Nathan Joyes
