OLA Puts All Sectors on HOLD
In a responsible reaction to the global COVID-19 event, late Friday afternoon, the OLA mandated that all face-to-face events are to be put on hold until April 5th.
CWMLA has been in contact with our field coaches, and any pending practices have been delayed until the hold is lifted.
Our remaining pre-season skills camps are now cancelled as well:
- Try-It Lacrosse - March 24
- Girls Try-It Lacrosse - March 24
- Grip-It and Rip-It open floor time - March 28
- Grip-It and Rip-It open floor time - April 4
As an executive, we will be working with our OLA and OMFLL governing bodies to ensure that our players and patrons remain safe. We will be relying on information passed down from the World Health Organization, as well as our local Public Health authorities.
At this point we do not know how this hold will affect our players or their seasons this year, including the start of box assessments. We are fortunate to have a hard executive team that will do its utmost to ensure that our members have the best lacrosse experience, while remaining safe.
Please make sure to do your part as recommended by the OLA:
-
Wash your hands.
-
Basic etiquette.
-
Contact between participants.
-
Avoid sharing.
-
Be aware.
-
Look ahead.
