Local Talent Represented at SWOLL
The South Western Ontario Lacrosse League (SWOLL) started in 2019 to fill the need for local competitive contact lacrosse. Players range from 16 - 45 years old, some coming straight out of minor, some with intermediate and junior experience, and some having played senior ball.
In the second season, we have a number of local players competing for that championship trophy including: CWMLA alumni, board members, Elora Mohawk, and Fergus Thistle coaching staff.
The front running Hornets this season are heavily weighted with locals including Scott Cook of the Elora Mohawk Junior B coaching staff, Shawn Murray from the Fergus Thistle Junior C bench, Warren Ziegler a local referee, Nathan Joyes CWMLA President, and Hayden Marsland a CWMLA alumni. The Hornets have been undefeated so far this season outsourcing their opponents 119 to 73 in 8 games.
Also playing are CWMLA Alumni Carter Hyndman and Aiden Kelly. Carter playing for the Falcons has racked up an impressive 10 goals and 2 assists in 8 games. Aiden is currently backstopping the second place Wolves. Both alum will play against each other on
Wednesday night 9:15 looking to move onto the finals against the Hornets.
