A Successful Season!

On behalf of CW Minor Lacrosse we hope everyone enjoyed their lacrosse season and we look forward to seeing everyone back again next year. We would like to share some of our success of the 2019 season (in no particular order).

-3 Try Lacrosse dates plus a Girls Try it Night
-Face-off clinic
-Bantam shooting clinic
-Goalie clinic before tryouts
-A very successful Toronto Rock Minor night - full of fun, great experience for the players and parents,  great volunteer participation and the only association that has sold out of balls for the ball throw in a short time period
-A successful  Toronto Rock Home Town Tour- a great turn out and a great group of young men that volunteered with the great group of home town tour co ordinations.
-Girls intermediate was back for the first time in a couple of years and a Girls Bantam Team
-3 house league teams
-3 peanut/paperweight groups
-3 Field teams 
-5 A teams- 1 from each division in boys box and both girls teams were A
-2 teams in each Tyke, Novice, Peewee, Bantam, Midget
-Bantam- brought home Bronze in A
-Midget- brought home Silver in A
-Novice 1 Gold in the Owen Sound Tournament
-Girls represented well in Whitby Tournament Skills Competition
-Intermediate girls - gold in tournament on July 1st weekend
-Bantam A boys - silver in tournament on July 1st weekend
-CW Retained 13 of our 14 refs from the previous season plus gained 1 new ref including 1 female ref- there is only 6 female refs in Zone 8
-CW Ref was the 2018 Archie MacDonald Referee of the Year award recipient.
-2 refs were invited to the worlds lacrosse in Mississauga
-4 refs that were invited to Ref Provincials
-Successful training of our time keepers- CW was the only association that had 0 game sheet fines for most of the season from the Zone
-6 Team ontario players
-A fun and successful Yuk Yuks night
-Smooth Tournament – financially viable – great number of volunteers
-Registration was up 15% over the last 2 seasons
-An All-time high of non-parent and Junior coaches coaches which has been a goal of the association for years
-Great group of executive members  

We are also proud that 2 minor alumni have signed NLL contracts this year.

Congratulations and THANK YOU to all our volunteers. Coaches, Assistant coaches, Trainers, Managers and anyone who volunteered to help with the season. We could not do it with out you!

We would like to invite you to our AGM On Wednesday October 2nd 7pm Elora Arena Hall. If you are interested in volunteering, but maybe do not have the time to join the executive, we are looking for some committee members. For example: Organizing players and a group for the Santa Claus parade to decorate a float and walk/attend the parade.  Organizing a Food bank Drive with minor players, Assisting the lead with Peanut/ Paperweight skills and drills.  Or being an assistant to a position to learn the position and help out during the season.
